// Deadlift Tips //⁠
⁠
1. POSTURE ⁠
Think pulling your shoulder blades back & down to create space between your shoulders & ears. Sink your hips down & feel the weight through your arms, this engages & synchronises the primary muscles before full contraction ⁠
⁠
2. ACTIVATE LATS ⁠
To activate your lats think about snapping the bar in two pieces outward, this will allow your shoulders to sink & elbows face forward⁠
⁠
3. GRIP⁠
Dont grip too narrow, set your grip of the bar at a width that allows you to actively drive the knees outward into your arms before you lift. This allows your glutes to activate & help with knee alignment ⁠
⁠
4. CHIN TUCK⁠
Maintain neutral spine, a chin-tucked position reinforces this ⁠
⁠
5. MAINTAIN CONTACT ⁠
Focus on sending hips backwards & keeping contact between your thighs & the bar until it passes your knees, maintain posture & technique till bar is back on the ground⁠
