I joined the Rhino 6 Week stampede because I felt like I was ready to take on more training and needed some help being accountable for my eating. Well I made it through my first ever bootcamps- which was something I would have once thought out of the question being someone with some pretty crappy knees and a lot of self doubt. The biggest challenge snuck up on me in the form of my food. I’m so stressed all the time that I hadn’t quite realised the full implications of my lack of appetite until my in body scan. Using the food diary, and guidance from the rhino trainers, I managed to eat 5 times a day almost every day throughout the challenge and actually increased my basal metabolic rate !!! Big fancy words for I got hungry and I actually enjoyed nourishing my body-something I intend to keep up. I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without the unwavering support and guidance of my trainer Jarred, who held my hand through the tears (literally) pushed me physically to improve strength and never doubted I would get somewhere. And also my sister Monica, who meal preped, pep talked and got my up for 5:30 starts. I’m the strongest and most pain free I’ve ever been, and on the right track to using training as my go to tool for mental wellness. Although iv been training at Rhino about 2 years now, I really feel like the challenge has marked the beginning of my holistic health journey. Thank you thank you thank you to every trainer at Rhino for greeting me with a smile each day and your genuine support, love and care for everyone at Rhino. I am forever grateful !
